I began making and selling flower bouquets to fulfill one of my simple enjoyments in life—to see the way faces light up when receiving flowers.
I began experimenting with flowers as a little girl in Nagano, Japan, watching my aunt create fantastic flower arrangements, dolls and knitted pieces throughout her long illness. I was especially intrigued by the animal-shaped flower arrangements, but she never taught me how to make them, whispering, “It’s a secret.” I slowly taught myself to make these arrangements over the years.
Flowers fulfill a very basic human need—the need for beauty, the need for nature, and to create a feeling of wellness and a little extravagance. Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” In our store, all of the flowers exist to fulfill this very purpose, but also to bring a smile and mark a special space or occasion.
We look forward to seeing you.
Warmly,
Kyoko
