Terry (Terrence) was my family's Japanese Chin dog, an ancient toy breed that was given as a gift to the Emperor of Japan by the Emperor of China over a thousand years ago. Like most Japanese Chins, Terry had a beautiful luxurious coat, deep dark eyes, and a button nose.  Everyone teased him that his head was too big for his body, but I thought he was gorgeous.  He also had such a beautiful voice when he howled that I wanted to faint with joy.  Despite his large body, he always acted like a pampered little puppy, and was unbelievably close to my mother. No matter where my mother was, there Terry would be.  Ever since we had our first Japanese Chin in our family nearly 35 years ago, we have been very loyal to this breed.  As a symbol of our family’s devoted dedication to establish this store, we decided to use the face of a 2-month-old Japanese Chin for our company logo.
All of Terry May Concept Flowers’ products are generally attached with a seal of the company logo. We realize, however, that many of you may prefer an alternative. For this reason, we at Terry May Concept Flowers have created a logo of a charming bird with a rose. The male American Goldfinch can be seen year round throughout every season in Manhattan. A brilliant yellow and smaller than a sparrow, this bird is always visible in The Ramble in Central Park—one of America’s leading small bird sanctuaries. The female American Goldfinch is not as showy without the bold black pattern, but bears a sweet expression. Even among its fellow birds, the gorgeous yellow of the Goldfinch stands apart from the flock here in Manhattan. We felt that this bird would be loved by all New Yorkers throughout the many seasons. If you’d prefer the Goldfinch seal, feel free to request it at the time of your purchase.
